Merthyr Town takes the draw home from marine

First day of the year on new years day and its home today with Supermarine Fc vs Merthyr Town fc on this warm winters day. With Merthyr town taking a very early advantage and scoring three minutes after kick off Owain Jones takes advantage of a disappointed defending error from the marine side.

With heads down its back to it, with pressure starts to build with a encouraging cross over to the box, but Spalding drives it over the cross bar. With Harris in goal for Merthyr Town its back out to the midfield with Ryan Campbell on the ball and breaks well down the wing but is soon broken down by Jarred Wright. With some great play in the midfield it looks like its a great battle of two halves.

With Ryan Campbell let loose on another run who fires one low to the box but Harris is well prepared . With end to end action its the visitors turn with Corey Jenkins and Owain jones in the danger zone but Jenkins has gone over in the box but the ref waves it on. Jones back on the ball with a great strike but a superb save Martin Horsell who is certainly under pressure with this game.

Another great effort from the winger Campbell who again is left to cross over into the box and is headed home into the net with Conor Mcdonagh leaving the visitors frustrated its Supermarine 1 Merthyr 1

With the second half under way the Welsh supporters raise the tempo as the noise get louder from the spectators side, back to the midfield battles going in hard, few changes on the Merthyr side Corey for Swallow. Campbell again let loose to run free down the side causing another disturbance with Harris, but Harris looking strong and commanding his area well within the game. Ben Swallow in the action quick and delivers a ball into the box but no on the other end.

Nice build up with Brad cooper who takes a shot and goes over the cross bar. Supermarine now looking the stronger in the later half. Campbell back on the ball crosses to Conor past the defending Welsh side fires back of the net and its there Marine side 2 Merthyr 1.

Centre spot for Merthyr side pressure on both sides battle against battle toe for toe looking nearer to the end of the game Owain Jones on the ball left from well outside volleys the ball into box top corner surpasses Horsell and delivers it home and the crowd and players go wild!! its Supermarine 2 Merthyr 2 and its too late to do any more damage as the final whistle goes
